Savvy Shopping: Pensioner to-be reveals budgeting superpower!

Dee Campbell, 65, from London has had to learn the act of savvy shopping as she is left with £45 disposable income each week. As a pensioner to-be, Dee revealed her budgeting superpower. It helps her to afford her essentials during the current cost of living crisis. The former office worker and criminal law secretary suffered from depression for years and was diagnosed with bi-polar in 2010 leaving her unable to work.

Today, Dee manages her shopping bills carefully and reviews all of her expenses meticulously, in order to maintain her savvy shopping. “I wasn’t always this way, comments Dee. “At one point I didn’t really have a grasp on my finances. I felt out of control and in the dark much of the time.”

How did she better manage her finances?

“When I was recommended to use IE Hub, it enabled me to better manage my finances and helped me to cope better mentally.” IE Hub helped Dee share her financial information with companies that she is in debt to, as a way to set up affordable payment plans for both the company and for Dee. “I’ve been living with unpaid bills now for a decade and if I could pay them all off I

would, but the cost of living crisis has been crippling for me and many thousands of others I know.”

“I live in a small Housing Association property and with lots of practice I know how to run my home as efficiently as possible. When offers are coming up at the supermarket, I know about it. Also, I’ve learned the price difference of almost every item in every shop. I like to call it my superpower. But in reality it’s all about getting by each day and I’ve had to become pretty adept at it. And thankfully IE Hub started me off on a much better and financially healthier track.”

“The format of inputting my budget gave me clarity and helped me to de-stress. I felt that I could almost offload all of my financial worries. For years I’d scribbled everything on paper. Now, my IE Hub budget gives me focus and clarity. I can send it to my creditors without talking and hanging on the phone for hours.”

A word from IE Hub’s CEO

Dylan Jones, CEO, of IE Hub says: “Dee and countless others use IE Hub to see their financial pain points. The format is easy and saves people explaining their financial situation over and over again. We’re pleased that it’s helped Dee to get into the habit of checking her finances and hope that, in time, her disposable income will increase significantly.”
